 Verified Really good pub based restaurant, with very friendly staff!
From booking our table to enjoying our meal our experience was excellent. The staff are warm and welcoming. The menu is full of choices. I had the fish cakes which were lovely. My wife had the crab for her main with jersey royals, again really good. My main was lamb and whilst I asked for it to be slightly darker than pink I should have trusted the chef and had it pink? There have been comments about the pricing policy but I can why it works. You should only order a side if you are really hungry. We didn’t manage dessert. The beer choice was wide and well kept, who knew Timothy Taylor of Landlord fame did a session IPA, Hopical Storm. It’s best to book ahead as a number of folks were turned away on both nights we visited.

 Verified Lovely quiet spacious room, great breakfast
Stayed for 2 nights B&B in a ‘hideaway room’. Lovely spacious quiet accommodation, with great parking, in a peaceful setting. The occasional whistle of the steam train in the distance was delightful! Breakfast was amongst the best we’ve had in a hotel, tasty fresh well cooked local ingredients. Less impressed with the evening meal we had - food was ok rather than delicious.

 Verified Staff, accommodation and food
We stayed for two nights and the staff in all areas of the hotel were extremely friendly, helpful and gave us very professional service. The bedroom was extremely comfortable and we had a great choice of dishes for breakfast. We wouldn't hesitation in recommending The White Swan to those wishing to visit Pickering and surrounding area.

 Verified Classy but not overpriced
Staying elsewhere in Pickering. We enjoyed the calm, professional, attentive service in the dining area. Decor was lovely - not at all chintzy but classy country style. Lots of space between tables. Not a pub type atmosphere, but that suited us, and they do have a pub/bar area if that's what you are looking for. We had the half lobster + fish and chips. Both dishes were lovely - well presented + tasty. We had the coconut and lime sorbet afterwards - a zingy delight! With 2 large glasses of wine and 10% tip our bill was £70.

 Verified Great Yorkshire Hospitality! 🤩
Stayed for two nights. Staff great gave a lovely welcome to a gorgeous Vintage room. Cosy, clean and spacious. Bath, shower and super comfy beds. Weather was beautiful, enjoyed sitting outside our room in the sunshine listening to the peace and quiet. A delicious dinner on the first night, and it was really delicious! All was fabulous, topped off with a mouthful watering Bergamot Sorbet, yum! Location perfectly central, close to the railway station and castle. Great Indian restaurant across the road, dined there on the second night. For chocolate lovers, try the Birdgate Chocolatier, a couple of doors down. Parking easy and EV charging available.  Verified Good Food!!
Called in for a ‘pie and a pint’. Had sooooo much more! We ordered Ploughman’s Lunch. Wow!! What an experience. We left afterward feeling ‘well fed and watered’. Thanks to all staff. Appreciated.
