The Ginger Pig
The kitchen of The White Swan Inn is delighted to announce that our meat supply is coming from National Food Producer of the Year 2005 – 'The Ginger Pig'.
'Ginger Pig' meat is farmed in Levisham, only seven miles away in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. From humble routes selling sausages made from a chance purchase of rare breed Tamworth pigs to a unique shop just off the Marylebone High Street in London. They now supply only five restaurants in the country and The White Swan Inn is the only one outside London. So now you can eat exactly the same lamb as at the famous River Cafe or the same calves liver as at Fergus Henderson’s St John’s of Smithfield – but because this is Yorkshire it’s probably only half the price.
They are determinedly not mass market so enjoy your meat and feel special – if you would like to then, you are welcome to visit the farm by arrangement.
