At the risk of sounding like my mother, where has this year gone!!!
Before we know it the frantic frenzy of Christmas will begin and lists will furiously be written – lost and re-written. But there are still crisp dry days to enjoy where there is a little warmth on our faces even if the layers of wool start to become more and more necessary. Why not take the opportunity to enjoy a bit of outdoors before winter sets in in earnest – a walk from the White Swan is a perfect way to spend an autumn day or jump on the North York Moors railway and enjoy a stylish ride in one of their beautifully restored and much loved steam locomotives. A White Swan favourite is to ride up to Levisham and walk back – a perfect way to build up an appetite and not feel so guilty about that delicious supper that will be waiting for you on your return.
There is lots to do in the area – Castle Howard is the venue for the annual NSPCC fair on November 7th and 8th. This fair is the biggest fundraiser for the North East branch and is simply amazing – there are sixty five carefully vetted stalls guaranteed to help tick a few presents of that list!
Tickets are now on sale at www.nspcccastlehowardchristmasfair.co.uk.
We can think of lots to do in and around our lovely area – come and see us soon for a quick battery re-charge before the chaos ensues!!!
