Drink

Our family originally purchased The White Swan Inn because it offered the perfect opportunity to indulge a hobby and passion for great wine on a larger scale.  Today, The White Swan Inn also attracts a devoted following for its real ales, lagers and fine wines.  We even have a loyal coffee group who meet in the bar for a freshly brewed coffee at least twice a week!

Whether you are a resident or just passing by, you have a fantastic choice of what to drink and where you can sit to enjoy your choice. The bar is open all day – freshly made coffees (cappuccinos, lattes, espresso, luxurious hot chocolates), 13 wines by the glass, Old Rosie cider, Black Sheep and 2 guest ales from Yorkshire’s smaller breweries.

Like our food we like to source our beer from local breweries, that’s why you won’t find John Smiths on tap here.  We support the smaller and sometimes lesser known breweries but that’s not to say we compromise on the quality of the product.  Our favourites are Wold Top Brewery, Black Sheep Brewery, Copper Draggon Brewery, Yorkshire Heart Brewery & Rudgate Brewery. There is also Cropton Brewery just down the road from us and we would be delighted to organise you a visit whist in the area. We know the importance of looking after beer and the environment its kept in, that’s why you will always get a great pint at The White Swan Inn.

Bar

Our cosy bar is just that, a small tap room with a roaring fire.   St Emilion wine crate lids framed in the wood paneled bar, you know you will have discovered the type of bar that isn’t on the local’s Friday and Saturday night drinkers circuit.  There won’t even be the sound of piped music intruding your quite drink.
The bar is open all day and you don’t have to leave the dog out in the cold either.  One of our friendly team are likely to give your dog a love and put down a water bowl for your dog to enjoy, allowing you to relax and enjoy the stylih surroundings.  The whole family really are welcome! Lit with candles on an evening, it’s customary to have a drink in the cosy bar while looking over the menu before heading up in to the restaurant.

Bothy

Discover the bothy, adjacent to the Hideaway rooms a converted beamed barn is waiting, especially for you. The bothy is yours to enjoy any time of the day, help yourselves to complimentary Nespresso coffee and Yorkshire tea.  Put your feet up in front of the log burning stove and read one of the glossy magazines.  Watch the tele, or become champion of one of the board games, the choice is yours.
The honesty bar is there for you too, it’s well stocked but we can always pop across with your favourite tipple if it’s not there.

Wine Cellar

With great food goes great wine.

The wine list at The White Swan Inn offers an extensive range of wines, both in terms of grape and region, with an emphasis on quality, character & individuality. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do as we have been working closely with our wine merchant Bon Coeur to hand pick the very best wines for you to choose from. You don't have to be a 'master of wine' to understand our list.

The AA Restaurant Guide has given the hotel recognition for having a Notable Wine List. This short list is only awarded to just 150 restaurants in the whole of the UK and the award is based on the overall quality of its wine selection and the presentation of the list.

The fine wine dates back to 1963 (POA) and features 24 amazing wines from great vintages of Bordeaux's St Emilion.
